Write On!
The Write On! Series began in 2001. These booklets showcase the writing of the Alberta Women’s Institutes (AWI) members who enter the yearly AWI Creative Writing Competition. Members can enter a manuscript in each of the following categories: Short Story Fiction; Short Story Non-Fiction (Memoir); Short Story Non-Fiction (Travel); Short Story Non-Fiction (Essay); Play; and Poetry.
The manuscripts are judged by professional writers. Awards are given for first, second, and third place in each category at the annual AWI convention. Prize winners are encouraged to allow the AWI to publish their work, with the funds generated from the sale of the booklets, going to the organization.
